Miss B, aged 5

16 Feb 2011

Miss B recently celebrated her 5th birthday so she was primed for her annual birthday portrait shoot.

Normally we take the photos outdoors but unfortunately after a week of blistering heat,  the rain decided to fall. Instead we adjourned to Miss. B's room.

Now that Miss. B. has started school, well she's very busy and far too busy to pose for photos. She gave me the cold shoulder, literally.

Now if you know me, you'll know I don't give up that easily. I managed to persuade her to give me a few moments of her time and the following images were the result.

Miss. B. demonstrated her mad ballet skills to me, then suddenly it was all over as she pirouetted off into the distance.

Before I left she gave me a small hot pink packet. When I opened it I found it contained 2 beautiful gum flowers. How sweet and what a perfect gift. She is such a character and I can't wait to see what her future holds.

I'll be back again on Friday so until then,

Little Miss B - almost four

16 Dec 2009

I spent Sunday afternoon with Little Miss B and her family. She's growing up so quickly and has developed a whole range of poses that would rival anything seen on ANTM. She can certainly do fierce and her twirling is a sight to behold.

Later in the day I was told that we'd be playing fairies. I cried off explaining I couldn't take her photo and play fairies as it's awfully hard trying to manage a camera whilst wearing wings.

I call these wings, 'training wings' as Miss B has a much larger pair. I wore these last time we played fairies.

This is my favourite image of Miss. B from Sunday - a slightly dishevelled fairy, completely unaware of the camera for a change.

Only 2 more more working days left for me for 2009! It's been such a hectic few days with lots of Christmas get togethers and a baby shoot. I've eaten more in the last few days than I have in the last month so I think it will be a slice of watermelon for me for dinner tonight.

I'll be back again Friday before heading on a roadtrip to spend the holiday season with my family. So until then,

Jillian

Bedtime Stories

14 Jun 2009

I had dinner with my favourite model last night, Little Miss B. She was suffering from an advanced case of 'ants in her pants' so in focus images were few and far between.

I was given the task of reading her a bedtime story but Little Miss B. decided I was veering from the text and took matters into her own hand.

I lay down and listened to her rendition of Goldilocks and the Three Bears, the Marks and Spencer version. She may not have been sleepy but I was by the time she finished!

Bye for now,

Little Miss "B", aged 3

14 Feb 2009

As you know, I still use film where ever possible. It's not that I'm a luddite, it's just that I like the inherent texture that film images possess. I only used a third of a roll of Fuji NPH 400 when I took my road trip to Canberra, so I used the remaining roll of film last Sunday.

I drove over to Harbord last Sunday to see some good friends and was entertained by their rock star daughter (check out the shades!).

I've been taking photos of Miss B since she was a week old and she has just turned three. She is a little character and very busy.

I ran out of film just as she tried on the fairy outfit she'll be wearing to a birthday party tomorrow. I've promised to return so I can take photos of Miss B with wings.

Being three is so much fun,

Bella and Ewan

17 Dec 2007

I've been taking photos of Bella and Ewan since they were both newborns. Ewan is now 6 and Bella is almost 2. Ewan likes to pose for photos which involves him standing upright with his arms folded across his chest whilst simultaneously grinning. I have chosen not to post any of those images. Bella is still too young to pose, thankfully. She made a glorious mess of herself feasting on cherries and strawberries before we headed over to the park for some playtime.

How much fun did Bella have eating those cherries? Wouldn't it be fun to be to be 2 all over again?

Thanks for the fun day,

Jillian

I've been working on some lay-outs for prints on canvas. I've attached a few and I was hoping you'd help me choose one for printing.

a day at the beach

6 Aug 2007

Last Monday I headed down to Freshwater Beach, near Harbord Sydney and spent the morning running after 5 children with my camera. I managed to get a few photos - lots of action shots

Bella decided that shoes were really not necessary when going to the beach, so she took them off. I have another shot of her tossing her shoe at me!

They did not stop running especially Indie.

We all had a fun day at the beach.

If you'd like me to photograph your children, just drop me a line.
