GOMA - Brisbane

I spent most of last week in my home town of Brisbane. On my final day I took the bus into town to see the Matisse: Drawing Life exhibition at the Gallery of Modern Art

GOMA

This was my first visit to the GOMA.

This was the first art work I passed. I still have no idea why Brisbane is known as Brizvegas.

GOMA

The gallery is housed in a light filled pavilion overlooking the Brisbane River. A year ago this walkway was flooded.

GOMA

Did you spot some of the local wild life?

The last piece of artwork I passed.

I hope you enjoyed my little trip to the GOMA. See you all again next week,

Jillian

  1. Thank-you for sharing this, Jillian. I really need to take my camera out more often and capture some more of Brisbane! Funny what you DON'T see when you live in a City. ;-)

    1. Hi Michelle,

sometimes it's fun to see your city as a tourist. I don't do it enough in Sydney either,

    1. Hi Sandy,

I really enjoyed it. It was a pretty comprehensive exhibition of Matisse's works on paper. How I wish I could draw like that.

  3. GOMA is fantastic, especially the kids program, we used to go all the time when we lived there, I wish we had something like this in perth. Yes a city definitely takes on a new light when you view it from the perspective of a tourist, especially Sydney. You have a beautiful blog, lovely photos and places you visit.
